Busy Days at Lake Havasu City
Lake Havasu City is my homebase. My son lives here, mom is just up highway 95 in Bullhead City, AZ and just a bit further up my other son lives in Las Vegas, NV. Having my family so close to each other is not only convenient but I love that we’re not scattered across the miles. I generally spend some of winter here and that includes Christmas.
This is also a great place to get RV maintenance done as well as chill by the lake, hike or head downtown for “cruise night”.
This is February and I had already spent quite a bit of December and January here so coming back after a short jaunt to California was not on my to do list but things needed to get done.
Before you continue you must read I'm Back Bitches - AKA, I started blogging again.
Selling My Motorcycle, RV Maintenance and a Quick Walmart Run
In November 2020 I bought a motorcycle!! I had never ridden one before, not even on the back of but I thought I’d give it a try. After taking 2 classes and 1 private lesson I just couldn’t get the hang of it. So I sold her, at a huge loss. You can’t live unless you try, right?
My RV needed an oil change. I guess I can do that anywhere available but I like to support Arizona and local businesses so I headed back to LHC to get this done. I go full synthetic, mostly so I can travel further between oil changes. I had forgotten how much an oil change can cost for a V10 engine – $90! Before living in an RV I had a little 4 cylinder Ford Escape. The oil change for that was $30, in California, where prices are generally higher.
I hit up Walmart for much needed and wanted supplies like an elbow attatchment for my dump hose, an iPhone charger (mine suddenly disappeared), new rugs for the Minnie, RV black tank treatment (nobody wants a smelly toilet tank), a big salad bowl (I make big salads) and fresh veggies. Yes, I can also shop at any Walmart but it was convenient here.
I’m hoping to do laundry tomorrow and hike at SARA Park. I haven’t hiked since visiting Joshua Tree a few days back and I need it.
Happy trails!
