RV Boondocking in the Kaibab Forest So I Can Hike the AZT

RV boondocking and hiking in Arizona

July 2020. I set out in my new-to-me RV, a Class C Winnebago Minnie Winnie 26 foot, to see how close I could get in the RV to the Arizona Trail to continue hiking it.

You see, it’s not easy to navigate a behemoth vehicle according to a walking trail. But somehow, in this part of Arizona, the Kaibab Forest, I did. I camp really close to the trail and hopped on it to walk more of the AZT so I could reach my goal of someday finishing the 800 mile trek.

In this video:

  • I search for dry camping spots along FR 303, 302 and 310 in the Kaibab Forest, AZ that line up with the Arizona Trail
  • The beautiful Kaibab Forest in Northern AZ
  • Hike of NOBO miles 661 – 664 of the AZT
  • A tree attacks me and my RV (just kidding, but I did get really close a few times)
  • I almost get lost – per usual with me
