The time had come to head to the amazing state of Colorado to hike it’s long trail – the Colorado Trail.
I live in my RV and had been cruising California for a few weeks visiting friends and wrapping up loose ends. I’m originally from CA, born and raised. I raised my children there yet once I divorced I found it too difficult to live there on one income so in October 2019 I decided to move to Arizona where my mom had retired. Long story short, I ended up becoming a resident of the vast and naturally diverse state of Arizona!
A quick stop in AZ, mom’s house, aka homebase and we were off to Colorado! What does my typical stop at mom’s house look like?
- Get mail
- Change the oil on the RV
- Eat too much of mom’s food
- Clean the RV
- Do laundry
- Hang out with mom and her hubby
- Get things from storage
- Take stuff from storage
John and I head northwest through Las Vegas to Utah to start our journey to Colorado. We’ve been traveling together now for 6 months and it’s been a blast! And it’s nice to have a partner to share the ups and downs of life with. Not to mention, he likes to drive so I get to chill.
Utah, in my opinion, is one of the most beautiful states in our nation. The natural beauty feels like God personally decided to sculpt the landscape himself. Unfortunately, our trip to Colorado does not include side stops in Utah. (I’ll be back Utah!)
We cruise up Hwy 15 to Hwy 70 heading east. Driving all day we finally stop at Devil’s Canyon rest stop for the night. Lucky for us the weather had been mild (hot for non-AZ peeps, lol) and we arrived during daylight to take advantage of this spectacular location!
Staying 1 night in this beautiful rest stop was a pleasure and I’d do it again for sure! Next stop : Glenwood Canyon COLORADO!!!
