GETTING MILES IN ON THE COLORADO TRAIL
Be sure to read DAY 6 of My Colorado Trail Trek
Starting our day super early, 5 am, Steph and I were looking to make some good miles, 18.3 to be exact, so we could cruise into the town of Breckinridge that day.
I rarely stay up at night to see the moon and stars so rising at 4 am was such a treat! The moon glowed so bright on the mountain tops nearby!! It was magical!

Snaking through the forest, we filled our water bottles in streams with the most amazing tasting water!! (I’ve hiked portions of the AZT and, though thankful for them, these beat the cow tanks!)
As we made our approach into Breckinridge we passed the 100 mile marker!! What a great feeling!

We made it to Breckinridge with plenty of time to grab local pizza and baked goods.
That night I got a restful sleep after an amazing shower at the Loge inn. If in Breckinridge CO definitely check them out! Only 1 mile off trail!
